Childrens Services Worker Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire (travel across the county required) Salary: £18,100 per annum Hours: Permanent Full-Time, 37 hours a week Structure: 5 day pattern of Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday What do we do here at Action for Children? Action for Children run the local service Bucks Activity Project, which was set up to provide county-wide play and leisure opportunities for children and young people with disabilities. We build positive relationships with families and work with professional colleagues to ensure we are able to support each child to achieve the best outcomes. We do everything we can to support disabled and challenged children and young people, to provide safe, healthy environments and bright futures. And the role? As a Children's Services Worker, you will work with children and young people aged 0-19 with additional needs, promoting their independence and wellbeing as they participate in play and leisure activities. You will do this by: Helping to run Clubs which will involve engaging the children to participate in arts and crafts, cooking, physical and imaginative play, construction toys, outdoor games and reading books Facilitating Holiday Clubs which can involve swimming, bowling, visit to the cinema, horse riding, Go-ape, boating activities and visits to museums and wildlife centres Supporting in developing and maintaining your professional skills and standards through participation in mandatory training events & regular supervision Complying with policies and procedures and Buckinghamshire Safeguarding procedures, to ensure safe practice Report writing, attending meetings and supporting the team leader for your activity on the given day What will you need? NVQ level 2 or a willingness to work towards completing Working flexibility (essential) Experience working with children and/or young people (desirable), or the desire and passion for working with children Knowledge of safeguarding (desirable) Willingness to travel to local services and group activities on an occasional basis Access to own transport would be an advantage but we may support you with the travel arrangements Ability to attend occasional training which might take place outside of regular working hours How will we reward you?
