An opportunity to lead our team in providing quality care for children in need across the whole of Buckinghamshire. Location: Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire Salary: £24,000 per annum Contract: 3x, Permanent Full-Time Structure: 37 hours per week What does Action for Children do? Each year Action for Children help the lives of 300,000 young people, children and families. We have exciting opportunities for Children's Services Team Leaders to join our team in Buckinghamshire. Tell me about the service: Bucks Activity Project provides county-wide out of school play and leisure activities for children and young people with disabilities aged 0 - 19 years. We do this by running a range of individual, large and small group activities. The project operates during all school holidays, weekends and evenings. We pride ourselves on listening to children and young people to support them to be involved in making decisions. We build positive relationships with families and work with professional colleagues to ensure we are able to support each child to achieve the best outcomes. About the role: The Team Leader will be: Leading and working inside a team supporting children and young people to reach their potential, across multiple areas of day to day lives Focusing on meeting social, emotional, health and personal care needs for all of our service users Delivering on planned play, leisure and practical living skills activities Planning engaging activities for the children and young people such as the weekend clubs & holiday clubs Leading on activities such as arts and crafts, cooking, leisurely visits, physical and imaginative play, outdoor games & book reading Taking responsibility for the safety, care and engagement of the children and young people Able to plan, organise and deliver sessions, create care plans & complete risk assessments within health & safety guidelines The role will be 50% delivery and 50% admin. The team leader will usually work a full day on either Saturday or Sunday with one evening shift a week. What will you need? Being qualified to NVQ level 3 standard in a relevant area, or the willingness to study for it Experience of working in Children's Services A flexible approach to working hours and will work across different clubs and activities Experience in leading a team or children Demonstration of leadership qualities Access to a car as county-wide travel can be regular Good MS Office Skills Excellent communication skills Knowledge of disabilities What are the rewards?
