Overview
Your new company Your new company is the UK's leading provider of cash management services, providing essential support to businesses across the country through transportation, processing, security and risk management. Following some strategic changes to the UK business, a post has been created for a Head of Property Services based from their Sutton head office. Your new role As head of property services you will report into the company's finance director and operations director, communicating in relation to strategies and budgets attached to the property services objective. You will be responsible for a 40 site mixed national portfolio of offices, processing facilities and depots, consisting of freehold and leasehold properties with locations ranging from Aberdeen to Truro. With the support of two property project managers and a security PM, you will manage a £2m capital budget, planning and programming annual spends across contracts for facilities, property services, responsive repairs and maintenance, H&S, security, and planned/cyclical refurbishments to properties within the portfolio. Your role will involve liaison with branch managers, regional directors and head office departments, as well as your team of PMs and administrative support staff (5 direct reports in total). You will be required to travel on occasion to discuss contracts and customer service provision to each site, especially when contracts are due for renewal, and you will oversee tenders for contracts. You will liaise with the group head of property on occasion relating to portfolio management strategy, although you will not be heavily involved in acquisitions or disposals. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed you will need strong technical knowledge relating to building maintenance, compliance and regulations, so a background or degree in building surveying is ideal. As this is a management role, prior experience managing a technical team is desirable, and prior experience managing capital budgets and creating/managing maintenance programmes will be extremely beneficial. Another essential attribute you must possess to succeed in this role will be contract administration or management of annual service contracts, as you will lead on monitoring and assessing levels of service and quality standards provided by contractors and service providers. You will need access to a vehicle as this role will involve travel to offices/sites around the country. You will also need a fully valid UK driver's license as you will need to drive for this role. What you'll get in return In return you will receive a competitive salary of £65-70K with an additional £5000 annual car allowance to cover vehicle maintenance and wear. You will receive a private company pension with an 8% employer contribution, and a minimum of 4% contributed by you. A company laptop and mobile phone will be provided, as the business supports flexible and home working. The company offers 25 days of annual leave Per Annum plus 8 bank holidays. Your annual leave allowance increases by a day a year up to 5 years of employment.
