Infrastructure and Cloud Architect About the Technology Department The Technology department ensures that our client’s mission and activities are well supported bycost-effective, secure, effective, robust and performant information technology.We are about to embark on a major change programme which will deliver: • Improved stakeholder experience and disclosure information • Assessments and insight compared against 1.5°C pathway • Availability of data and assessments of companies rapidly after submission • Deliver near real-time insight and analytics capability This will include a major update our technology estate, particularly our data platform, modelling and analysis capabilities, our CRM, moving to an all-cloud infrastructure and implementing a new service desk. Delivery of a brilliant service to our internal and external customers is critical to the department’s success.Therefore, it is adopting a new operating model and focused on an agile, dynamic yet controlled approach to systems implementation, product development and service management Role purpose As part of the Technology department’s leadership team, you will define our infrastructure architecture, make sure we build to it and be critical to defining and executing our path to the Cloud. Key responsibilities include: • Define infrastructure architecture principles, blueprints and technology standards. • Define and manage our infrastructure architecture, including defining the move of existing components into the cloud and the infrastructure to support new applications as they are commissioned • Maintain an understanding of current infrastructure technologies, concepts and trends and apply them • Work closely with the Technology director and leadership team to develop a strategic plan to maintain and improve our technical capabilities, ensure it is cost effective and meets the needs of the business. • Assess the impact of projects and changes on our infrastructure and define solutions to support them. • Ensure that our infrastructure meets capacity and performance requirements, is secure and cost effective • Guide and mentor devops engineers and operations staff to solve difficult problems and to implement changes. • Working vertically, while this is not a server administration role, a small organisation provides opportunities for you to keep your skills sharp at the frontline and be a clear and present leader in the team.Sometimes, that will mean rolling up your sleeves and doing what is needed to get the job done. Required skills and experience: • An expert in Infrastructure and Cloud architecture and Capacity Management • Strong experience of migration to cloud hosted infrastructure and management of the key associated risks including data migration, network impacts and cost modelling. • Experience of working with leading cloud providers including Microsoft • Strong knowledge of architecture methodologies, principles and frameworks, ideally TOGAF • Significant expertise in Cloud technologies, including Azure • Significant expertise in Windows 2012, and exposure to Linux • Significant expertise in Active Directory and Office365 • A strong understanding of infrastructure and cybersecurity issues • Practical experience of translating business strategy into technology roadmaps • Experience working with 3rd party delivery partners and vendors • Experience working within tight budgets and delivering cost-efficient solutions • Excellent interpersonal skills and fully experienced dealing with stakeholders across both Technology and the wider business. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, in English. • Excellent facilitation and influencing skills Desired skills and experience (optional): • Experience with data collection and analytical systems gained in a regulatory, corporate reporting or a similar environment • Experience within enterprises who operate in the B2B space, and preferably with a strong data and customer focus, possibly in Data Services, Telco, Financial Services, Utility, Travel or Government. • Experience working in both small and large enterprise environments and can utilise agile ways of working to enhance quality and productivity This is a full-time role based in the London office reporting to the Technology Director.This role will be part of the Technology Department leadership team.
