Overview

A leading developer of Semiconductor Equipment is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead their Software Development team at their site in Bristol. The main areas of responsibility will include implementing a roadmap plan for the software platforms required to meet business and customer needs. You will implement and sustain an industry standard development operations revision, release and subscription management control process for all software platforms. Where required you will determine the outsourcing strategy for software, including the skills development and succession plan, and support the outsourcing of software development. In addition to software development for new products, you will provide support for existing products, including after sales support. Therefore, you will support regular software version releases, complete technical support documentation, and provide software details for quotation documentation and sales information. Working through the full product lifecycle you will be involved in NPI activities and also legacy software. This is a hands-on development role, with the additional responsibility of leading a small team of 3-5 Engineers in the development of product software. Experience: Ideally you will have around 5 – 10 years’ experience in a hands-on Software Development role, along with experience of managing / leading a small team of Software Engineers. Qualifications: To succeed as Software Development Manager, you should have achieved a Postgraduate Qualification and / or Degree in Software or a relevant discipline. In addition, you will have significant commercial product software development experience. Additional Information: Candidates MUST be eligible to live and work in the UK/Europe.
