Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire Contract: Casual Hours: Flexible basis, as and when needed Salary: £9.23 per hour What do we do here at Action for Children? Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children across the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 300,000 children, young people and their families - but for every child who needs help to get help, there's plenty more to do. That's where you come in. So, what does our service do? Action for Children run the local service Bucks Activity Project, which has been set up to provide county-wide play and leisure opportunities for children and young people with disabilities. We build positive relationships with families and work with professional colleagues to ensure we are able to support each child to achieve the best outcomes. What you'll do: As a Children's Services Worker, you will: Work with children and young people with additional needs & disabilities Promote their independence and wellbeing as they participate in play and leisure activities Help in the running of clubs which involve children participating in a wide range of social activities (arts and crafts, cooking, physical and imaginative play such as being outdoors & book-reading) Facilitate holiday clubs which could involve activities such as: swimming, bowling, visits to the cinema, horse riding, go-ape, boating, museum & wildlife centre visits. Attend training events to help support you in your development What will you need? NVQ level 2 relevant qualification or a willingness to work towards completing this Experience of working with children or young people Knowledge of safeguarding Willingness to travel, access to own transport is advantageous. We could potentially be able to support with travel. Ability to attend occasional training, potentially out of hours What are the rewards?
