Overview

JOB OBJECTIVE To perform the key areas of the role enabling the Company to achieve its strategies, objectives and targets. Employees will show their commitment to the IMS by implementing and complying with processes and procedures. Company objectives will be discussed and agreed at Management Review Meetings then cascaded down to all employees during annual PDR appraisals and other regular departmental communications. REPORTING TO: Contracts Manager BASED: Northern Region (combination of home working and site visits across North) JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible for the management of projects from receipt of order to final handover to the customer, including the management of design, procurement, manufacturing, expediting, contract & commercial correspondence, commissioning, handover and finance. All projects must be delivered safely, to the correct quality, within the noted time period, to the contracted requirements and on budget. KEY RESULT AREA KEY OBJECTIVES/OUTCOMES Management of Projects Fully manage all post-order activities to meet agreed customer deadlines. Develop and maintain an agreed project plan. Bid and sustain effective communications with other roles involved in the project. Apply quality management principles and processes at all times. Ensure excellent planning, reporting, record-keeping and communication is in place to manage the project team to successfully deliver the project from receipt of order through to completion. Contractual & Technical Support Where required attend pre-order customer meetings to develop practical, contractual and technical solutions to issues. Agree the timing of the project and manage all post-order activities to meet customer deadlines. Develop and manage post-order issues whilst building strong relationships with contractors, architects, consultants and subcontractors. Aim to enthuse this group about our customer and the performance of our product Margin Control Maximise the project margin and minimise risk and FOC work where possible. Build effective relationships with the delivery team, suppliers and sub-contractors in order to maximise additional work instructions and to minimise claims and contra charges where appropriate. KEY RESULT AREA KEY OBJECTIVES/OUTCOMES Company Ambassador Manage all communication, correspondence and reporting strictly in line with current Company policies and procedures. Demonstrate pro-activity in all areas of responsibility. Control actions of sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with QHSE legislation and Company requirements at all times. Administration Undertake all necessary administration duties to ensure the efficient running of the project. Update the ASTA project plan on a weekly basis for all projects. File all project correspondence correctly and in line with current Company policies and procedures. QHSE It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the company QHSE Policy. All employees are to be familiar with the integrated management system processes and procedures of the Company. EXPERIENCE 3- 5 years’ experience in running multi-trade projects with a multiple product base. Site management experience. Experience within the construction industry. Technical background/understanding. A proven track record in successful project planning and management. Good experience with QHSE procedures. SKILLS Excellent organisation skills to plan the use of people and resources. Ability to use ASTA Power Project and MS Office. Strong interpersonal skills to motivate and lead people and teams. Good quality control skills. Ability to monitor and control budgets. Good communication and negotiation skills to manage expectations. QUALIFICATIONS NVQ/HND qualification in Project Management, Construction or Business. Degree level qualification in Project Management, Construction or Business. SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
