Buyer – RC Frame & Groundwork Subcontractor £30,000 - £45,000 Benefits Surrey About the Opportunity: We’ve been asked to find a materials buyer (possibly two) for one of our best clients in Surrey. This role will report to the existing head of procurement and will offer opportunity for those looking to develop their career and progress with time. Your day to day duties will involve liaising with sites to make sure all items are being ordered and delivered at the correct times to keep operations running smoothly. While trade agreements are in place you may from time to time be required to negotiate on prices with suppliers but this should be normal for anyone who has done this before. So, all in all, this opportunity offers an excellent position with a market leader in the RC frame & groundwork sector, but in addition there is potential for the future of your career. About the Company: With a head office in Surrey this business operates as a £140m turnover concrete frame and groundwork subcontractor. They have regional coverage as far as Bristol and Birmingham but the majority of their work is in and around the London area. Project, or package values range from £5m up to £45m each, which should tell you they are involved on a real variety of projects including some of the largest developments in town. I truly consider this company to be one of my best (favourite) not only because of their capability, but because the people are exceptional and from a statistics point of view, I placed 6 people with them last year and all are still there. To me, this is a crucial point. If I am going to help secure people opportunities, I always want to know they are with businesses who value and keep their people. About the Requirements: To be successful all applicants need to have previous experience either working for a rival groundwork or RC frame subcontractor OR must have worked for a merchant / supplier selling the same materials to these subcontractors. Either one of these scenarios will mean you have an understanding of all the items involved and the sort of rates for each. In addition to this experience because of the location of our client, all applicants need to be able to commute on a daily basis to the Surrey area (inside the M25). About the Benefits: The estimated starting salary for this role has been given as £30,000 to £45,000 and will be based on previous experience in this role. In addition to this you can expect additional benefits including company pension scheme and target-based bonuses further down the line.
