Overview

Humber Recruitment are looking for an experienced Plant Fitter Supervisor for a client based in Grimsby. The site is in Grimsby depot and covers piling operations and concrete delivery solutions both internally and for external clients nationally. Responsible for the maintenance and repair of plant. This includes the team of depot fitters, supporting other departments and completing plant repair and maintenance tasks to meet project requirements. Key Responsibilities Responsible for quality, productivity, safety & environmental considerations Developing the longer term strategy for fitting workshop business plan as well as innovation and possible technological developments for the workshop gaining input from the depot fitting team and the plant co-ordinator Be responsible for driving own development to gain specific and specialist plant knowledge where gaps have been identified, with the support from management Focus on maintaining fitting operations through consideration of the succession plan for future fitters and develop this department to align with the wider plant fitting team on-site as well as consideration for the wider team Plan, manage, and optimise the activities of depot fitting personnel in order to safely complete maintenance and repair activities in the most efficient manner possible Develop weekly and longer term work activities for the depot fitting team and work prioritisation in accordance with plant list, audit reports and rig programme supplied Ensure material/consumable stock levels are maintained or adjusted as required by working with the depot storeman Produce material requisitions under own initiative to ensure all materials available for planned repair and servicing works in advance Preparing and maintaining records such as the AMS system to enable monthly KPI’s to be produced, monitoring employee attendance and ensuring quality records are produced Ensuring workshop areas are tidy, maintained and well organised by the teams working in them Responsibility for following the damage process for the plant with the team, ensuring processes are followed with the use of technology Develop and manage KPI’s and team goals for the team. Ensuring they are communicated Key Skills Demonstrated ability to work in a construction environment as a supervisor of a team of plant fitters Ability to work with management team to input into, establish and deliver the plant management business plan Experience with heavy plant fitting, ability to provide guidance to both apprentices and experienced plant fitters within the team Ability to learn and gain knowledge from experienced plant fitters who have extensive knowledge on the specific specialist plant, to further own specialist plant knowledge Competent in understanding and executing both verbal and written instructions and can give them to the team. Microsoft Office skills required: Word, Excel and Outlook Able to work in a team environment and lead a team to deliver results and promote positive team behaviours Ability to understand and have experience in producing and following maintenance procedures Ability to develop a team to promote strengths and address weaknesses Good understanding of health and safety Qualifications NVQ in plant maintenance Previous demonstrable supervisory experience preferred although specific knowledge of piling plant and equipment is not necessary Being able to develop a team and have a customer focus essential CSCS (advantageous) FLT license (advantageous) Job Type: Full-time
