Overview
Job Title: Principal Engineer Reporting to: Head of Test Location: Farnborough Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 p/a Responsibilities Taking responsibility for high level test failure investigations · Leading investigation of common customer returns with electronic elements and overseeing appropriate actions to prevent reoccurrence · Liaising, where appropriate, with customers on design related issues and recommending improvements where possible Supporting continuous improvement activities within Test Equipment Engineering and Test Departments Role Specification Qualified to a minimum of Degree level in electronics · Proven experience of working within electronics design environment · Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages Ability to read and interpret customer drawings and schematics Ability to identify components Knowledge of Test Equipment programming languages such as LabVIEW would be beneficial Person Specification Demonstrates proactive approach Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Good communications skills; written and verbal Ability to Mentor Excellent diagnostic skills People Management · This role has no direct people management responsibilities but is typically involved in managing people relating to projects Training and Development · To take responsibility for own training and development · To be regularly supervised in accordance with good practice guidelines and policies · To participate in the annual performance review process · To attend all relevant mandatory training as and when required to do so Health and Safety · To ensure that all health and safety requirements are followed in line with Company policies and procedures Skill Level Level of skill required: significant · Scope of skill level required: mainly at a local level which could extend to multiple areas · Dealing with issues: use initiative & be problem solving · Processes & procedures: to be followed and implemented Involvement in strategy decisions: supports 3DOM Recruitment are acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy.
