Head of Risk Management Reinsurance
Overview
We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company. Reviewing new products and transactions from a risk management angle, with a particular focus on large and structured transactions. Providing expert opinion on business proposals containing Life & Health risk, ensure that key risks are identified and reflected in the structure and costing of deals, and ensure that reasonable risk mitigations are implemented. Leading the Risk Management costing assurance process; which involves setting the direction for both Insurance Risk Reviews and Terms of Trade Reviews across Reinsurance. Maintaining a comprehensive risk management framework across all risk categories. This will include identifying risks the L&H business is exposed to, proposing appropriate limits, monitoring risk exposure developments, ensuring regular reporting of the risk landscape and undertaking projects to understand and investigate key risk issues and topics with a global scope. Providing recommendations to Head Risk Management Reinsurance Life & Health, Chief Risk Officer Reinsurance and relevant decision bodies including Life & Health Steering Committees and other management committees. Leading the Life & Health Risk Management Business Partnering process, which includes ensuring that operational risk management framework is embedded robustly, and providing risk advice to the company business partners. Leading the review of the EMEA and Globals Life & Health Business Plan, monitoring emerging risks (for example emerging viruses by leading the Pandemic Monitoring Group) and major new L&H business initiatives. In order to conduct your role successfully you will foster positive relationships with Client Management, Business Management, Finance and Products counterparts within the community. You will lead a small team and collaborate with the wider Risk Management colleagues to deliver comprehensive services to the Life & Health business. In your role you will be required to travel occasionally, and also attend global meetings that span multiple time zones Strong understanding of Life and Health reinsurance processes; ideally with experience working in multiple business functions. Prior experience with large and structured transactions and advanced reinsurance concepts is highly desirable. Excellent organization and time management skills. Actuarial background strongly preferred; other quantitative backgrounds with suitable business experience will also be considered
