Overview

Credit Controller Pulford Business Park £20k basic Southam Selections are working with a specialist company who offer services to support the private rental sector. The company have been established for a decade and they have expanded into Insurance as well as offering other bespoke services. Overview of the role; Focus is on achieving credit control targets by collecting overdue customer accounts, You will also be required to support the finance team by responding to customer invoice queries, amending invoices and processing special requirements. Working Hours; Monday to Friday 9am - 5.30pm Duties & Responsibilities: Work closely with the finance team leader to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters Resolve invoice and direct debit queries by phone and email Call agents to resolve unsuccessful direct debit collections by communicating and tailoring the approach to the customer Undertake detailed fact finds and problem solving to determine the customer’s requirements and escalate to the relevant department if necessary Escalate debt to senior management team at appropriate time, referring to Credit Control procedure. Process customer special arrangements and amendments to invoices as required and ensure the relevant team members are informed of changes Prepare and maintain large spreadsheets regarding debt control, reporting these to the senior management team on a weekly basis. Ensure that all relevant information is recorded accurately in both accounting and operating software for colleagues. Build strong, positive relationships with customers to reduce the number of debtors and days outstanding Support the finance team leader in preparation of monthly invoices to agents. Be responsible for planning, organising and managing own workload to ensure achievement of set targets Assist with the implementation of new policies and procedures, and documenting them Assist with the annual external and internal audit process Provide ad hoc support when required by the Financial Controller and senior management team Carry out any other tasks that may be required of you from your line manager Ideal Person Experience of credit control - you need to be able to hit the ground running Outstanding attention to detail Someone who enjoys talking to customers and is skilled in overcoming customer objections with integrity, resilience and persuasiveness.
