Legal Secretary - Litigation A brand new position has arisen working for a US law firm within walking distance of Liverpool Street, Fenchurch Street, Bank & St Pauls stations. This position is a maternity cover, initially for 12 months, working at Partner level for one of the most impressive US law firms in Central London. This firm require a candidate with strong Litigation based experience, and preferably immediately available however applicants on notice periods will be considered at this stage. The successful Legal Secretary / Legal PA will be joining a fast-paced, highly regarded US law firm with a reputation for outstanding client service. This particular Legal Secretary / Legal PA role will be working for 1 Partner and 5 Associates within the International Arbitration team. This role will be a balance of both technical secretarial work and PA duties. Bundling experience is essential and knowledge of the Litigation/Arbitration process will be highly beneficial. The successful Legal Secretary / Legal PA will be working 9:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, and be expected to undertake the following duties: - Typing (audio and copy) and composing general correspondence, such as documents, letters, memos, faxes, reports and PowerPoint presentations, from various sources (e. handwritten notes and tape dictation). Responsible for accuracy and clarity of final copy and ensuring all work is returned in a timely manner. - Inputting data into Interaction. - Assisting with the preparation of bundles. - Recording time for fee earners in Carpe Diem (the firm's time-recording system) when requested. - Assuming responsibility for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all client and Firm information. - Utilising the Firm's computer systems and software applications effectively as well as establishing and maintaining filing and recording both in hard copy and in electronic format. - Undertaking any other ad hoc secretarial or administrative duties as requested, e. arranging last minute business itineraries, coordinating travel arrangements, taxi bookings and meal orders, and assisting with duplicating documents. - Although fee earning work takes priority, at quieter times, there may be the opportunity to assist with marketing activities and other non-fee earning tasks.
