Overview
A fantastic opportunity has become available with an incredible business. Elevation Recruitment Group are partnering with West Yorkshire Fire Service to recruit a specialist Buyer, Contract Officer or Procurement Officer. Over the next five years, Keighley, Cleckheaton and Halifax Fire Stations will all be rebuilt and Huddersfield Fire Station will undergo a partial demolition and full refurbishment. Alongside these operational buildings, the Fire Service Headquarters (FSHQ) at Birkenshaw is also going to be redeveloped, undergoing a significant refurbishment and modernisation. The work across all five sites will cost in the region of £21m, indicative of the investment WYFRS wishes to make in providing staff with the best of facilities and a modern workspace. The Procurement Officer will join at an exciting time, as the business has invested in its procurement operation to drive commercial change and drive VFM initiatives across the whole spend portfolio. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring procurement professional who works in an existing procurement team and wants to take the next step with having more responsibility. The role will have a coach and mentor in the Procurement Manager. You will be guided through major capex investment projects to the value of £20m, the portfolio of procurement projects includes minor works in refurbishments, trades and labour, professional services and other ad-hoc requirements to modernise the business. Ideally located for travelling from Burnley, Oldham, Rochdale, Sheffield, Barnsley Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield, Huddersfield.
