Overview

A new and rapidly growing insurance company based in London are currently recruiting for an Operations/Third Party Manager. The Operations Manager will be expected to work with the Contract Services Manager in ensuring all outsourced and third-party processes and systems operate within an established governance model. The role will provide 'real time' support to the Operations team, initially to the Procurement lead and Contract Services Manager to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision-making relating to third-party and outsourced services, continuously improving operational control and oversight processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and both internal/external frameworks. The role calls for a sound understanding of oversight and governance, budget management, risk and control and business continuity, but also an appreciation of how these activities are undertaken in an outsourced and predominantly offshore environment. Relationship management skills are critical to success, as is an ability to synthesise change requirements and prioritise recommendations based on a comprehensive understanding of quality, risk, timeliness and cost dynamics. It is this mix of analytical, commercial and communication skills which are at the heart of the role. The Operations Manager will report into the Contract Services Manager. Your key responsibilities will be to: Supporting the Contract Services Manager in building the Outsourcing framework and establish governance standards. Working with the Procurement Lead to create supplier review and selection processes. Actively influence governance and control around third-party and outsourced business process Working closely with the Risk, IT and Compliance teams ensure that all third party and outsource-related risks are proactively communicated and effectively mitigated with controls Ensure a continuous and comprehensive understanding of controls for all third party and outsourced processes including effectiveness of oversight As required, act as the interface between Operations team and external solution providers Ensure compliance to Group policies, maintaining an available auditable trail as needed Manage or support on key operational initiatives as required Skills and experience required Experience working with and influencing outsourced operations (offshore preferable) within the Insurance Market Commercially aware, understanding and anticipating the needs of both operations and management Strong communication skills including influencing, stakeholder management and presentation Problem-solving / can-do attitude Detail orientated with analytical mindset Work at speed given complex and difficult technical situations, with strong prioritisation skills Flexible and adaptable to change, able to contribute in an entrepreneurial environment Solid supplier management/commercial management experience within the BPO environment and can demonstrate a good understanding of both sourcing and budget management Exposure to supplier contract management
