Senior / Principal Transport Planner
Overview
SENIOR / PRINCIPAL TRANSPORT PLANNER My client is looking for a Senior or Principal grade Transport Planner to join their team in Leeds. Candidates will possess the necessary experience, knowledge and technical expertise to engage directly with clients (in the case of Senior grade this will be under supervision) and for smaller commissions act as project manager. They must be conversant in pre and post planning transport planning and highway design matters. ·The key skills will include delivery of the following; ·?Transport Assessments; ·Transport Statements; ·?Travel Plans; ·?Highway link and junction design to DMRB and Manual for Streets standards; ·?Car parking review; ·?Access Design; ·?Road safety assessments and accident data review; ·?Junctions 9, LinSig and other junction models; ·?Network models, SATURN etc.; ·?Preliminary signal design; ·?Understanding of planning law and process; ·?Public transport knowledge. At Principal level, you will be expected to have your own client base for a proportion of your work, and be able to show the actions you are doing to develop this side of your skill base. At Senior level, you should ideally show how you win repeat business from existing clients and demonstrate that you engage with clients effectively and directly. At either grade you should provide support to the Directors for certain team management, marketing and administrative roles that are essential to the smooth running of the business. At Principal level you will act as direct line manager for more junior personnel in relation to both general office and project-related management issues. The role will require excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and an ability to present the findings of a project or to represent the interests of the company in public.
