Sigma 3 has 8 of its own Retail Showrooms across South Wales and England. We serve a large number of independent trade and builder accounts and pride ourselves in a quality product and a quality service. To strengthen our Production/Manufacturing team we are looking for an enthusiastic, Goods In Supervisor with determination, ambition and self-motivation to support the drive for growth in our Manufacturing Division. Good sense of humour Key Tasks Supervise staff Management of staff to meet manufacturing /departmental objectives Management and authorisation of holidays in accordance with Company procedures. Work wear – ensure that corporate clothing is worn and that all necessary PPE is in place. New products/training Responsible for staff attendance levels/time keeping – challenge and conduct Return To Work Interviews Conduct team meetings as directed and record discussion/reaction. Provide feedback to the Production Manager. First line disciplinary action in accordance with Company procedures. Support and take a lead role in the introduction of Lean principles and continuous improvement throughout the business Ensure company policies and procedures and adhered to at all times Quality Maintain the highest standard of quality of product to meet customer expected on time delivery. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) – control of documentation and training. Strive Management, delivery and the recording of staff training. Ensuring that staff sign to acknowledge the training received. Information/feedback – understand the need for documentation, its control and trace ability. Health & Safety Act on and monitor actions as instructed by Senior/Line Manager. Complete Risk Assessments and document. Support and encourage the use of the near miss reporting process. Strive to achieve a culture of zero incidents/accidents. Tool Box talks/train and educate staff on assessments and how they need to be recorded. Monitor H&S actions, report faults to H&S Manager. Work with H&S Manager to construct Work Instructions/Safety/Procedures/Training packages for ALL work based tasks. PPE compliance H&S inductions including training and team talks Performance Understand the capability/capacity of the department. Understanding of department targets and objectives. Responsible for team and departmental achievement of K.P.I’s Attend meetings as and when requested Production reports Key responsibilities and duties: To ensure that goods are received in from suppliers at the correct time in optimum condition and to place them within the Goods In area in the correct locations Ensure that staff are fully briefed and trained on new products to ensure familiarity Understand the capability/capacity of the department Understand the departments objectives and act on these Ensure that paperwork is distributed to the relevant stakeholders within and outside the business, and ensure that there is traceability and control of such documentation Ensure that the forklift is used safely and effectively, keep records of daily checks, and report any defects for rectification Deal with queries from internal and external stakeholders Training new staff Report all rejected items with outside suppliers and amend system appropriately, efficiently and effectively Ensure company policies and procedures and adhered to at all times Qualifications and skills: Good general education IT skills Must have had previous supervisory experience within a Goods In operation Excellent product knowledge and an eye for detail Rewards The rare opportunity to work for the largest manufacturer of kitchens in Wales with an enviable reputation for quality and service built over 40 years of trading.
