Overview
This company, a Cambridge based, very high calibre developer of SoC's for Graphics and Networking applications are looking for capable C++ Lead Firmware Engineers who are up to the challenge of solving complex problems associated with enabling ultra high definition graphics over low latency networks, any platform, any connector, any application Simple eh ? Seriously though they want capable C++ Lead Firmware Engineers who can turn their hands to developing on bare metal, embedded C++ software, into applications, look at software performance problems, enjoy straddling the hardware and software divide, maybe take a look at IC verification for a bit, get hardware talking to software, possibly sort a video compression algorithm problem here a USB or networking problem there, by now, you are probably getting the picture. Not a job for the faint hearted. You would be joining a capable R & D Team, where good low level / embedded C++ development experience is simply the glue, working together with equally talented, like minded Engineers to solve complex problems is where the fun is really at. If you feel you could make a difference in a particular technology area, you will be encouraged to go for it. You can make as much of the job as your ability (or curiosity) allows. To become a valued member of the team you will need: A good background developing complex low level, embedded, driver type software in C++ A good academic background in CS / Electronics or Maths To enjoy putting your head together with other engineers to solve complex problems To be at least hardware curious Any additional experience in Graphics development, video compression, high speed networking, real-time systems would be put to really good use.
