Overview
Manufacturing / Heavy Industry Your new company Hays Engineering are proud to be working in partnership with a fantastic, manufacturing organisation that is commutable from Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Hull. They are currently in need of an experienced, qualified Mechanical Technician to join their team. Your new role You will manage the day to day maintenance for all associated equipment and report to the senior technicians or Mechanical Engineers. Must have experience of reactive breakdown maintenance and will require strong problem-solving skills. Your technical experience will include excellent fitting abilities, with good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, maintenance welding and machining. Should be confident to read and utilise Engineering drawings to assist with component assembly and fault-finding techniques on all equipment. You will be expected to work on a broad range of equipment across the site, such as pressure systems, process water systems, overhead cranes, furnaces and various mechanical drives. This opportunity is a days role but will including a weekend working rota (6AM - 2PM). What you'll need to succeed You will have completed a recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (ideally in a heavy engineering environment). Experience of maintenance within a steel environment would be a distinct advantage, but knowledge of other medium to heavy manufacturing environments would be acceptable. It is important that you are a strong team player, a good communicator at all levels, IT literate and capable of working with production, electrical and management staff.
