Product Designer Job Location: Poole, Dorset Job Type: Permanent Salary: Up to £25,000 DOE free onsite parking Hours: 39hours per week - 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday with a 4pm finish on Friday An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Designer to work with a leading company who design, manufacture and supply high quality products to both the B2C & B2B market. This well-known company have been established over 35 years and pride themselves on their wide range of bespoke and in demand products they have to offer and are now seeking a talented Product Designer to work within their dynamic, creative and friendly design team. This is a really exciting and varied position that will include supporting the design process from start to finish by liaising with directly with clients to obtain thorough understanding of requirements; developing decorative products from initial concept, through to final prototypes for internal brands and leading national accounts and demonstrating advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D skills along with manufacturing awareness. This fantastic opportunity requires an enthusiastic individual with infectious creativity who is passionate about delivering high quality work and exceeding customer expectations. Key responsibilities within this role will include: Playing a key role in the conceptualization and development of new products and product concepts Planning and executing design projects based on given briefs and schedules Bringing fresh and innovative ideas at each phase of design development Communicating with other disciplines within the design studio and other business functions for appropriate execution of the projects Ensuring designs match the given briefs in aspects of form, aesthetics and technical quality and costing Determining appropriate materials, construction, colour and surface finishes Liaising directly with manufacturing partners, using existing developed products and components where necessary to reduce sample development lead times and increase speed to market The successful applicant will possess: BA in Industrial Design or Product Design is essential Experience with rendering packages such as Key Shot, is an advantage but is not essential Working knowledge and experience in the use adobe Photoshop, illustrator Excellent hand drawing / sketching 2D visualisation skills 3D visualization skills through prototype mock up’s Ability to interpret technical drawings and translating these into a usable format for manufacturing Knowledge of any of the following design software and techniques in both 2D and 3D Fusion 360, Solidworks, Creo, SiemensNx, Rhino, 3DsMax, is an advantage Excellent written and verbal communication skills In return for your hard work the company offer: 23 days holiday increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays Option to buy up to 4 days additional holiday every year Free car parking Various discounts available for shopping / cinema / gyms etc. Death in service scheme Welcoming team environment Regular social events Hours: 8am - 5pm Monday - Thursday with a 4pm finish on Friday free parking If you are a recent graduate and studied a BA in Industrial / Product Design at the following universities please also get in touch; Coventry University; Northumbria University; Bournemouth University; Nottingham Trent University; Loughborough University; Sheffield Hallam University For more information about this brilliant opportunity please contact our Recruitment Team or apply with a full CV.
