Production Engineer

Production Engineer Job Location: Poole, Dorset Job Type: Permanent Salary: Depending on experience benefits Hours: 37.5 hours per week with a half day on a Friday We are working alongside a leading European manufacturing company based in Poole who are currently looking to recruit for a Production Engineer on a Permanent basis. Within this role you will be responsible for executing the strategic goals regarding new equipment, production layout and production improvements. Within this position we will be looking for you to (but not limited to): Identify manufacturing needs for new products in development and providing facilities and methods to ensure cost effective integration into manufacturing operations Reducing variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions Supporting the companies Continuous Improvement Methodology through the analysis of KPI data to drive the elimination of waste, utilising Lean, 6 Sigma and other best practice techniques Implement best practices and production improvements, not only maintain them Ensuring the companies Safety and Environmental obligations are met and maintained Training and development of production staff to ensure compliance to standard operating procedures Overall efficiency and productive ‘up-time’ of flow and production lines Providing engineering support in the preparation of FMEA and Supplier development documentation Providing engineering support to shop floor operatives to ensure minimal interruptions within production, any interruptions are resolved quickly; ensuring quality and safe working are kept upmost. Ensuring all machinery and equipment required to carry out production is functional and maintained. The successful applicant will possess: Previous experience as a Production Engineer HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Industrial or Production Engineering Previous exposure to lean manufacturing methods and quality methodologies such as 5S Kanban, 6-sigma etc. Previous experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Autodesk Inventor) of equipment, systems and components Experience of production engineering of castings, injection moulding, gear design and assemblytechniques Experience of flow-line manufacture beneficial Pragmatic desire to implement ground roots improvements Practical and innovative Dynamic approach Computer Literate Working hours are 37.5 hours per week with a half day finish on a Friday This is an excellent role to join this well renowned company in Poole.
