RESEARCHER – MENA (ARABIC SPEAKING – LIBYA FOCUS) We are a London-based security risk management consultancy seeking to hire a Researcher specialising on MENA, with a focus on Libya, in a full-time position to join our team based in Central London. The successful candidate will be expected to apply linguistic capabilities, research acumen, and analytical techniques to produce accurate and detailed reporting on various political, security, socio-economic, terrorism and human rights issues. Job Description Working in a small team, you will be involved in a dynamic environment within which your role and responsibilities would be: · To conduct open source research and collection of intended subject matter according to business needs: political, security, socio-economic, terrorism and human rights issues · To consolidate foreign language information into English, and produce clear and concise written reports to support company products · To maintain in depth knowledge and expertise on focused countries, particularly Libya, whilst maintaining a solid understanding of regional dynamics across MENA · To meticulously input and store data within company-held databases Essential: · Ability to rapidly gain understanding of the local context · Ability to speak and read formal Arabic at a professional level · Confident use of social media and news sources for research purposes · Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Microsoft OneDrive Preferred: · Experience of conducting open source research or social media analysis · Knowledge of the political, cultural and religious dynamics across the Middle East (with a keen focus on Libya) · Familiarity with media landscape and dynamics of public opinion · Minimum of undergraduate level education, preferably in International Affairs, Politics, Linguistics, or Middle Eastern Studies Job Type : Full-time (Monday to Friday, 9am-6pm) This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89661891
