We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for you to build a career as a Children's Support Worker working at a specialist school for children with autism. We are looking for people who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work in supporting the children in every way possible. You will be supported with a comprehensive induction and plenty of opportunity to learn on the job; through formal training, reflective practices and from experienced colleagues. The School will also pay for you to get industry recognised qualifications and provide true career progression. As a Support Worker, you will be working in a varied and rewarding role; amongst a committed and supportive team that works with the children to develop their independent living skills and promotes social inclusion in the community. The support will also include supporting the children with routine tasks and their goals relating to training, education or employment. Through your training (paid for by the school) you will learn how to provide support to children, which will enable them to achieve the objectives and goals of the school progressing through to graduation. You do not need to have previous or formal experience working in mental health, complex needs or in a residential-based service. As a Trainee Support Worker, you will be working a shift rota, which will involve working early, and late shifts (no nights), including some weekends. You need hold a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
