Building Surveying Team Leader (MRICS)

Your new company Your new company is a leading British Construction Consultancy with global reach and high profile clients such as Heathrow Airport, TFL and the MOD (to name a few). Having secure successful long terms contracts across both public and private sector, and with more in the pipeline, the requirement for the permanent appointment of an additional senior building surveyor at their Surrey office has arisen. Your new role Your new role has been created due to consistent demand for large scale project support from both public and private sector clients across Surrey and the South. You will lead a team of surveyors, providing building surveying support and services across numerous projects simultaneously ranging in value from £100K - £5m in value. Your clients will predominantly consist of local & central government bodies as well as some private sector clients. You will be the point of contact with key project stakeholders, contractors and other associated bodies and will proactively manage your surveying team, ensuring work is delegated, progress is reported, information is recorded accurately and deadlines are met. In addition to this you will take lead on technical services on larger scale projects such as performing surveys, writing specifications, and providing contract administration on key projects, focusing on the Surrey area but also across the South East when necessary. What you'll need to succeed In order to succeed in this role it is crucial that you are a chartered building surveyor and full member of the RICS as you will be responsible for mentoring junior surveyors and guiding them through their APC. Strong experience in contract administration on projects up to £5m is essential, as you will need to be able to carry out instructions of this size. Prior experience working with public sector clients is preferable but not essential, it will however be advantageous to understand processes and policies surrounding public sector operations in relation to construction. This role requires strong client facing skills and the ability to build on current business to drive revenue, as well as securing work from new clients, therefore strong experience tendering for projects is a must have. You will need experience managing a team as coordinating your surveyors and support staff efficiently will be key to project success. As this position will require you to travel across Surrey and into London a fully valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle is essential. What you'll get in return In return for your commitment you will receive an annual salary in line with the regional average,bench-marked at £60K plus £5K car allowance. In addition to this you will receive private healthcare and flexible benefits package as well as a private company pension and a performance based bonus accrued at 2.5 x annual salary billings. Your new company will also cover your annual subscription fees. Annual leave entitlement is 25 days per annum bank holidays, You will receive an annual performance review from your line manager which will also involve a review of your salary vs your annual fees, and securing a salary increase is possible every 12 months if your performance reflects it.
