If you answered 'yes’ to the above, we’d love to hear from you We have long term placement opportunities available for Pharmacy Technicians available at East and North Hertfordshire Trust, specifically providing the following: The Lister hospital offers a wide range of services, including regional specialities - renal medicine, plastic surgery and urology. With an investment of around £150 million in new facilities having been completed, the Lister hospital has been transformed. This includes: a new surgery unit (called the Treatment Centre), an expanded maternity unit, multi-storey car park and major changes to our emergency and inpatient services. To carry out general dispensing, drug distribution, purchasing, manufacturing and associated pharmaceutical duties for the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust under the supervision of a Pharmacist or Senior Technician. To participate in the dispensing of prescriptions for in-patients and outpatients and in associated pharmaceutical duties, including clinical trials and to carry out final checks in accordance with the department’s accreditation scheme (once accredited by the Trust approved external scheme). Skills/Responsibilities: To apply for this post, you will: To participate in the "topping-up" service supplying stocks of medicinal products to wards and departments and participate in the 'non-stock’ top up service to one stop wards. To counsel and provide information to patients/carers collecting their medication from the dispensary, according to procedures; to provide information about prescription payment, exemption and further supplies as well. To sort returned drugs/waste, separating items to be credited and those to be discarded, according to procedure; to put back returns on the computer as per procedure; to be actively involved in sorting returns on the wards as part of the top up process.
