Overview
A challenging new role at a scientific industry trade association for a technical administrator to provide support to the association’s regulatory departments and its members. Key duties will include managing complex cost sharing mechanisms for members, preparing contracts and agreements, preparing and tracking invoices, maintaining an efficient filing system for vital documents, preparing costings for new members to take up services and communicating information to members. This will be a challenging and varied technical administration role; the association undertakes highly technical and complex scientific studies on behalf of its members; your role will be to support the technical manager and other key scientific managers and to manage very complex cost sharing mechanisms to ensure members only pay their fair share of the cost of scientific research. Suitable candidates may have a scientific background and be looking for an administrative role or, you may be an existing technical administrator looking for a new challenge. You must have strong numeracy skills; the cost sharing is a big part of the role and it is highly complex. You must have advanced MS Excel skills and ideally experience working with databases (MS Access). A scientific background will help with the understanding of the Association’s work but it is not essential; any knowledge of regulatory affairs, in particular EU REACH would be very attractive. You must be well organised, have excellent attention to detail, have effective communications skills, good written communication ability and be able to work with minimum supervision.
