Application Opening Date: 01/04/2020 Application Closing Date: 30/04/2020 The Main Duties And Responsibilities Of The Job The Director, People Support & Operations- Mediterranean & Asia reports in to Regional Director - People Support & Operations (PS&O) and is based out of European HO at Capability Green in the United Kingdom. This role leads, develops, coaches and co-ordinates the PS&O HR team members within their specified sub-region in a manner agnostic of business area, in alignment with the global PS&O strategy and those of the businesses in their region. It has overall responsibilities for ensuring the effective delivery of HR services to all employees in their sub-region, including labour relations, and in identifying opportunities to enhance efficiencies in the delivery of a world-class employee experience, for all employees. This role may also act as the "Single Point of Contact" for a VP-HR or SHRBP to co-ordinate the delivery of HR services or activities across their business (this may include liaising and directing HRM’s outside of their sub-region. Although similar in accountabilities to the Regional HR Manager roles, this role also contains additional accountabilities and responsibilities which they undertake on behalf of the entire Region, or on behalf of Global PS&O. Examples of this include being the PS&O Lead for the BECF, the PS&O Lead for the Asia Business or the PS&O Lead for all Operations in Region. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Ensure specific activities across the region are implemented consistently and meets the needs of the business requesting them. In this context, the impact and scope would normally cover 5 or more countries with differing legal and regulatory infrastructures. Delivery of various tasks, assignments, and projects upon request across the entire region or globally. Provides leadership and management of the BECF, ensuring that Ball remains compliant to all regulatory and legal requirements and that the forum is a positive addition to Balls employee engagement strategy. Provides HR leadership for HR teams and plants that are outside the "established" organizational construct of the business (e.g. Asia) Skills, Qualifications And Experience Needed BA/BSc. degree in Business/HR or other BA/BSc. Degree with relevant further HR Professional Qualification (or Equivalent) Extensive progressive HR management experience in the Middle East, Sub-continent & South East Asian markets Experienced in Merger & Acquisition due diligence and integration in the specified Sub Regions covered by this role Experience of strategic HR leadership in a factory/plant based environment across multiple sites and multiple countries; managing inter/intra country interdependencies, ensuring adherence to corporate strategies and local laws Knowledge and proven experience of handling employment laws, regulations and HR priorities for the specified Sub-Region Proven track record of working collaboratively with the regulatory bodies of the specified Sub Region Demonstrable effective communication skills, with the ability to analyse data and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis. Able to lead with facts and inform with data. Build partnerships with Legal, Integrity, Compliance and Employee Relations, to identify local employment and compliance risks and lead related audits and regulatory reviews across the Sub Region Competent communicator in English(written and spoken) with working knowledge of Arabic Strong leadership skills Execution & decision making Strategic thinking Managerial courage Conflict management Managing diversity Desirable skills, qualifications and experience MBA in HR Experience of working in a similar industry / background I,e packaging, manufacturing Ability to manage a complex set of stakeholders, with previous experience of operating in a large matrix globally dispersed organisation, taking into account cultural nuances across the sub-region, and advocate change through influence rather than authority.
