Overview

Projects Associate Consultant - Mercer - Edinburgh Job Summary We are looking for a Projects Associate Consultant to provide support on the successful and efficient implementation of pension scheme de-risking exercises. This will include acting as project manager for your own cases as well as supporting other members of the team. Additionally, you will provide support and expertise to consulting team members to ensure the provision of an efficient, professional and profitable service where required. This is an entry level Project Management role where the successful candidate will support a team of Technical Pensions Consultant in order to complete projects within our existing and potential Defined Benefits clients. You will work as an holistic PM and look after finance, planning, procurement, pension trustees, legal advisor, etc. Main responsibilities and Accountabilities  Efficiently manage projects within agreed budgets  Produce work within deadlines and budgets as instructed  Attain personal billable hours target  Maintain an accurate record of working time  Use computer system in an efficient and structured manner in line with JLT policy  Maintain compliance in accordance with legislation for allocated clients  Have an awareness of client profitability  Perform all work to professional standards and within client and statutory deadlines  Attend client meetings and conference calls as required  Produce neat, dated and fully referenced work which is easily checkable and can be followed up at a later date  Draft letters and reports as instructed which should be clear and complete in line with internal and external standards  Attend to telephone and written queries as instructed  Build professional and friendly relationships with clients where client contact is appropriate and approved  Communicate technical information, providing the client with a clear understanding and minimising follow up queries  Support for meeting preparations  Ensure meeting points are appropriately actioned Experience and Education Requirements • Ability to solve problems • Good time management skills • Excel, Word, and Outlook skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Relevant pensions experience Key Competencies  Attention to detail  Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team  Ability to absorb new information quickly  Analytical and investigative skills.  Establish and manage relationships with internal staff and external parties.  Communication;  Drive and Resilience;  Planning and Organisation;  Delivering Solutions;  Big Picture Thinking;  Relationship Building;  Leadership and Influence;  Driving Change & Improvement About Mercer Mercer provides insights, advice and technology-driven solutions to help build brighter futures for our clients, colleagues and communities.
