Overview

Highways Maintenance Business Manager required by principal contractor in the North West of England Candidates should have knowledge and experience of NEC Civil Engineering contracts and managing both office and manual staff in a Civil Engineering environment. In this role you will be responsible for all Health and Safety implementation and management including an in depth knowledge of CDM and preparing Construction Health and Safety Plans, All Risk Assessments and Method Statements in delivering a safety first culture. You should have existing knowledge and experience of preparing programmes of work and detailed cost accounts from initial early contractor involvement to final payments. You will require experience of developing relationships with clients and winning future work opportunities. A Civil Engineering degree is preferred but not essential. The post holder must have a relevant Engineering qualification equivalent to HND/HNC and will ideally be a member of a relevant institute,(Institute of Highway Engineers or Institute of Civil Engineers) Must hold relevant Health and Safety accreditation, Site Managers Safety Training Scheme and a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (Preferred Senior Managers Black Card) The post holder must have a minimum of five years' experience managing in a Civil or Municipal Engineering environment that delivers projects through in-house or sub-contractors.
