Overview

Ground Control have a brand new opportunity for a Landscape Construction Manager working on our Highways England contract across the North West in Areas 10 and 13. This role will be responsible for running landscaping works across this region and will include resource management and project planning. As a Landscape Construction Manager you’ll be responsible for managing and mentoring your supervisors, operatives and field teams working on our HE contract, whilst driving quality, Health and Safety compliance and financial results. You will be responsible for setting aligned goals and targets for your delivery teams and to monitor and manage individual and team performance through key performance indicators. As part of your role, you will be required to continually assess the risk profile of your projects, enabling the business to maximise each and every opportunity and delivering to the very best plan. In addition you will support the business growth strategy, acquiring new business by delivering exceptional customer service. You will actively champion a positive HSQE culture within the business, leading by example and supporting your delivery teams to ensure 100% mandatory compliance. You will seek to employ and retain high performing A Players (Supervisors and field teams), by consistently developing an engaged, passionate team who are dedicated to achieving financial, HSQE and contract programme targets and driving new business. OUTCOMES AGAINST WHICH YOU WILL BE MEASURED: Health and Safety Through actively managing, communicating and engaging you will manage the safety of your clients, your colleagues, your field teams and the general public. With the support of our central HSQE teams you will ensure all documentation is completed correctly, stored to the relevant systems and briefed out to all relevant stakeholders. You will proactively drive and manage health and safety on site by taking a zero tolerance approach to any potential non-compliance. It is essential that you carry out regular audits on site, whilst reviewing any actions that arise. This is a fantastic opportunity for an existing landscape construction specialist or someone with a land-based background ideally with a good understanding of the Highways environment. Having worked directly for HE would also be an advantage The role is covering Areas 10 and 13 so the ideal location of the candidate would be in the Manchester area but we would consider strong applicants from anywhere in the North West. Regular travel across the region is part of the role depending on the current projects however you can be based from home when you are not required on site or in meetings. The successful candidate will: •Have a valid CSCS card in addition to SMSTS (SSSTS as a minimum) •Be dedicated, hard-working with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team; •Be a good communicator across at all levels, including the proven ability to liaise with clients, main contractor representatives, Ground Control field teams and other trades that impact on the Landscape programme. •Possess sound written and numeracy skills
