Overview

You will be instrumental in working with the management of this company to effect change. This a real HR people partner role where you will work as part of the management team on strategic goals relating to improving talent, engagement and drive change and a positive culture. Client Details With a base in London our client is a major UK organisation. Our client has over 7,000 employees and is a unionised environment. Description Based in London this HR People Partner is a core member of the people function and you will act as a key interface between the central People functions and the senior management. You will work as a true People Partner and will be required to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business's challenges and work with the business to create an environment where our people are empowered, capable and engaged driving change and a positive culture within the business. Key responsibilities will include: Provide strategic business partnership, thought partnership and coaching to all levels of the business. Through proactive talent management activity, assess team and employee and manager development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions to drive a high-performance culture. Ensure succession plans are well maintained and risks mitigated, feeding into overall succession map. Lead and support on change initiatives. This could involve organisation restructuring, introduction of new technology and different working practices utilising business insights and best practice knowledge to ensure demonstrable return on investment Implement the Business Unit IR strategy and act as HR lead at Local and Functional Level to support change implementation and avoidance of industrial disputes. Build and nurture a strong working relationship with unions and internal stakeholders. Partner with the HR Shared services and marketing to deliver the annual engagement survey, ensure there is an action plan after considering the results and delivering comms on those results and action plans. Support and drive the annual performance management cycle, ensuring alignment to company KPIs and Business Unit Plans and driving continuous improvement. Feed into the development and implementation of effective performance management strategies appropriate to non-management role. Work with the recruitment team, ensure talent attraction and selection processes are effective, efficient and modern providing an engaging candidate experience resulting in an improved employer brand. Act as People Lead on projects with people implications, utilising data driven insights and internal feedback to drive activity and interventions in support of an improved employee experience, ensuring all projects consider other People agendas e.g. Diversity & Inclusion. Support strategic workforce planning by ensuring we have the right number of people, with the right skills/behaviours, in the right place at the right time to deliver short and longer term objectives. Continuously drive improvements and share best practices Profile The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate that they can work in London and that: They have been in a genuine HR People Partner role for at least 3 years and have significant experience working as a people partner / Hr Business partner; They have experience working with unions and influencing union relationships in a unionised environment. Experience of working with and influencing managers on a range of business / people issues - and in particular influencing stakeholders where there are legacy issues or operational history. Experience of implementing new initiatives and rolling out new ways of working. The idea candidate will have a curious nature and will be pro-active in their approach to the business. There is a great deal of information and analytics to use. Our client is looking for someone that will want to utilise all the tools at their disposal.
