Overview

We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy whom are looking to recruit for a Principal Rail Civil or Structural Design Engineer being based in either Bristol or Reading offices working on major projects within the Rail industry such as the East Coast Mainline and Transpennine Route Upgrade. As the Principal Rail Civil Engineer will report to the Civil Team leader in which you will have the opportunity to lead and direct teams of Rail Civil and Structural engineers, graduates and technicians involved in producing civil engineering designs and studies for a range of railway infrastructure projects. Your task is to lead Civils teams to deliver projects, ensure commitments are met, monitoring team performance against programme and budget, in which you will also lead key design projects, ensuring client SLAs are achieved and within budget which includes monitoring project and team performance against contracts and project quality and making adjustments if required. This is a line management role and the post-holder will be responsible for expanding the skill set of the Rail Civils Structures team as well as contributing to furthering company ventures as they develop. The said consultancy is looking for a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer. As mentioned, the role will be based in Bristol. However, there could be potentially to be based in Reading if that location is more suitable. Job Requirements Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent experience.Ideally experience acting in the role of Client's Responsible Engineer.Experienced within the rail sector and ability in the use of Network Rail procedures and standards.A thorough understanding of Network Rail standards and processes.Has designed and qualified civil engineering deliverables.Experience in the use of EurocodesExperienced at working with contractors in a design and build environmet If this position is of interest, then dont hesitate to contact Sebastian at Critical Project Resourcing
