Job Title: Senior R&D Trials Agronomist Job Type: Permanent Hours: 37.5 per week Job Location: Banbury As a Senior R&D Trials Agronomist you will be primarily responsible for the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for conducting R&D trial activities in accordance with GEP & GLP guidelines. You will also be responsible for planning, preparing and organising trials to work in an efficient and productive manner Ensure R&D Trials Agronomists/Assistant R&D Trials Agronomists are suitably instructed and trained to carry out the requirements of studies. As a Senior R&D Trials Agronomist, you’ll receive a salary of between £24,000 - £29,000, depending on experience, plus you’ll benefit from a 10% performance bonus, retail discount scheme, private health cover a fter 1 years’ service , company car a contributory pension scheme and life cover. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Work with Project Manager / Study Managers / Trialists and Clients to generate data and meet agreed deadlines. • Ensure a high level of communication and proactiveness in the monitoring and capture of relevant information. • Matching client’s requirements with the trial site to ensure successful completion of client’s objectives • Ensure efficient data transfer from field capture through to internal databases for evaluation and client updates. • Checking suitability and accuracy of data generated from all trials undertaken. • Accuracy and efficiency of data handling using industry software such as ARM, FERN, PISAR, FARM. • Planning, preparing and organising trials to work in an efficient and productive manner Ensure R&D Trials Agronomists/Assistant R&D Trials Agronomists are suitably instructed and trained to carry out the requirements of studies. • Locating/marking of field trials at suitable sites on farms to ensure the most effective locations possible are chosen for the field trials to meet the objectives set out in protocol and management databases • Ensuring own and staff compliance to all industry standards and SGS quality system to ensure consistency in our services • Monitoring field conditions, crop growth, pest/disease/weed developments, to ensure best practice is maintained in the running of trials, and to log any information that may affect the objectives while working to a high level of confidentiality and protocol • Analysing, writing and presenting reports to show understanding of the findings and support the registration or development of various products. YOUR PROFILE Skills / Experience / Qualifications: The successful candidate will likely have experience working with field trials within a relevant agriculture or horticultural area. Broad agronomic knowledge including Crop and Pest identification skills and understanding of growing systems and timings. A degree or further qualification in a relevant agricultural/life science subject essential. PA1 - Safe use of Pesticides Foundation Module and PA6 - Safe use of Pesticides Handheld Applicator.
