Clerk of Works

ITC ,
London, Greater London
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000 per annum

Overview

After recruiting in the industry for 20 years I can safely say this is one of our favoured clients - purely as a result of feedback received from candidates placed there over the years. THE ROLE: They require a Site Inspector / Clerk of Works to join their busy team, undertaking inspections, monitoring refurbishment and new build projects. Ideally the candidate will live in South East London or Kent so they can service projects in those areas. REQUIREMENTS: • Becoming familiar with all the relevant drawings and written instructions, checking them and using them as a reference when inspecting work. • Experience in residential construction; houses and purpose built flats of varying ages. • A wide understanding of the building industry including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements. • Be attentive to detail when checking work and materials. • Awareness of Asbestos. • Strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, contractors and residents. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: The ideal candidate will have previous experience in undertaking site inspection / clerk of works duties on high and low-rise residential properties. We would expect the individual to have relevant professional qualifications but this is not essential if a significant amount of experience can be demonstrated to us. The ability to drive and access to a car is a necessity. Craft or technician qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 or BTEC/SQA national award. Membership of The Institute of Clerk of Works would be advantageous but not a specific requirement.
