We have a vacancy for a Machine Operative to join our client at their production facility in Brandon, Suffolk. This is a full time, permanent role covering a day shift with working hours of 07:00 - 16:00 Monday - Thursday and 07:00 - 15:30 Fridays a total of 39 Hours a week. There will also be overtime available. The company produce many different fresh vegetables and crops within the farming industry and the purpose of the role is to produce a quality product of the highest possible standard. The company operates in a highly competitive fast-moving fresh food manufacturing industry where all contribution is recognised as part of a successful business. Duties and responsibilities will include: Operate and setup machines in a safe manner Producing a quality and safe product and packing of finished goods into various outers whilst working in a controlled environment Coordinating order completion Line change over Managing live traceability by continually checking label and print quality ensuring correct sell by date etc. with assistance from team members and QA, ensuring that all paperwork is filled in on time and correctly Cleaning of equipment between product runs Promoting and implementing HSE and BRC standards across the company to ensure a safe working environment for all and strive to continuously improve the safety of own department Adhere to all QA policies and procedures and assist QA improving the quality of our products Ensuring that hygiene and housekeeping within the area is in line with organisational policy and exceeds it wherever possible Promote all company policies including the Dress Code and the premier values and dignity at work policy Adhere to reasonable management requests as and when required For this position we are seeking candidates with a good level of numeracy and literacy skills and ideally 6 months previous experience in working in a food environment. Excellent communication skills are also required.
