Food Compliance Manager
Overview
We have just been briefed on a Site Food Compliance Manager position with a dynamic National FMCG business in Lincoln. Our client Manufactures and Supplies high profile products in a niche and expanding market. They are going through a period of transformation and development and looking at ways to develop and expand their offering. This is a lead Compliance position, reporting to the Technical Manager and working closely with internal departments and external customers. As compliance manager you will also take responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the raw Materials and Specification technologists. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To manage the following areas: packaging & labeling, specifications and raw material control and give support to Sales, Production, and NPD teams. To provide customers with technical information as required. To assist the Quality Manager with the management of quality systems, Quality Manual, internal auditing and the promotion of Good Manufacturing Practice. To work with the Technical Manager to develop and manage HACCP, and standards & controls for new and existing products. To deputise for the Technical Manager as required. Liaise with all departments and managers on site. There will also be regular contact with raw material suppliers and customers. Communications with artwork agencies, enforcement authorities and 3rd party auditors. Maintain all customer specification portals ensuring all information is up to date and accurate. Act as main point of contact for all customer queries regarding specifications. Check and approve product artwork, packaging and labeling in accordance with customer requirements and current legislation. Liaise with NPD to ensure submission, specification, and artwork requirements for NPD projects are completed within the agreed deadlines. Respond to customer technical requests to meet submission deadlines. CORE CAPABILITIES: Auditing experience working with the BRC Working knowledge of major retailers. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Educated to graduate level in food science, food technology or similar relevant discipline. Sound understanding of customer online specification systems such as Hive, Evolve, TQC, SVA Prestige, OPRi, etc. Minimum of three years experience in a technical department of a frozen or chilled food manufacturer.
