SPEECH & LANGUAGE THERAPIST - [Swinderby, Lincoln LN6] We are recruiting for Speech and Language Therapists (SaLT) full and part time, to join our multidisciplinary team based in Lincolnshire to work across our Children's and Adult Services. About the job: An opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and passionate Speech and Language Therapists to join our team based in Lincolnshire. You will be a caring and committed individual who enjoys team work and wants to support individuals with severe learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and challenging behaviour. This role is to provide speech and language therapy to meet the needs of individuals within the Kisimul Group. Our Speech and Language Therapists oversee the delivery of therapeutic interventions throughout the school, residential settings and adult homes. The role will include administering a range of assessments, report writing, delivering individual and group therapy, overseeing the work of Speech and Language Therapy Assistants, multidisciplinary working and giving clinical advice. What would I be doing? * Evaluate individual abilities by undertaking formal and informal assessments. * Interpret results of Speech and Language Therapy assessments and observations and produce written reports for annual reviews. * Work in partnership with teachers, parents and other relevant professionals regarding the needs of individuals with emphasis on progression and attainment in communication skills * Provide advice, support with strategies and writing SaLT programs / sessions. * Support and liaise with school staff and residential support workers in the implementation of communication strategies. * Develop, prepare and maintain therapeutic materials. * Provide supervision to the SaLT Assistants. * Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis where appropriate and facilitate group therapy activities * Devise and implement tools to measure outcomes and demonstrate effective therapy and pupil progress. * Regularly monitor programmes of therapy and review outcomes in line with EHC plans. * Oversee and support therapeutic input within the Adult Homes. * Support PECS / Makaton coordinators to help promote individuals progress in communication. * Remain up to date with current research, practices and guidelines. * Attend reviews, multi-disciplinary meetings with SaLT meetings as appropriate. * Contribute to the pupils' Individual Pupil Care Plan with regards to communication. What experience or qualifications would I need? * A qualified Speech and Language Therapist who is registered with the HCPC. * Experience of working with children and/or adults with special educational needs is desirable. * Specific knowledge of strategies/approaches to support young people with ASD and SLD is essential e.g. PECS * Ideally this role is suitable for a therapist with at least 2 years of experience as a Speech and Language therapist. * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. * Ability to liaise with a range of professionals, across a range of settings within both the Children's and Adult Service.
