Benefits 37 hour week with Flexible working hours (core hours 9.30-4pm Mon-Thurs 9.30-12.30 Friday) 5 days holiday Bank Holiday (option to buy additional 5 days) Bonus (paid for past 11 years) Pension 4%6% OR 6% 8% Life assurance The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen within our Bristol based Product Assurance Software Quality team for an engineer to further develop their quality assurance skills. What are we looking for? You have an understanding and background in software development and quality assurance, within a process-based design and development environment. We are looking for people from a diverse range of backgrounds and industries. You have knowledge of systems and software processes including national and international standards and assurance requirements. You remain calm under pressure and cope well with unexpected changes You can work independently as part of a functional and integrated team You can grasp the essentials of a project, process, plan or problem but still work the detail You will ideally have an Engineering Degree, or equivalent, with an understanding of new and appropriate technologies. You will have the opportunity to grow your understanding of how complex defence systems are designed, proved and delivered You will have access to over 300 internal learning and development courses The opportunity to join the mentoring programme The Role - Software Product Assurance Engineer Provide Quality Assurance across both programmes and functional activities of the Engineering Directorate assuring activities comply with BMS process requirements and contractual standards. Planning and assessing Product Assurance Quality activities (System, Software and Integration Quality Assurance) Proactively working with the projects and functions to improve the company processes To develop, produce, certify and deliver products more effectively. Identify and mitigate risks and issues/problems associated with process application, effectiveness and compliance. Lead regular Project Quality Assessments and provide input to monthly reports. Develop and implement appropriate action plans with the project. Experience or knowledge of DOORS, RTC, Rhapsody, MATLAB/Simulink would be beneficial though not essential. We are part of the UK based Product Assurance function, based in Stevenage and Bristol, working closely with our French and Italian counterparts. Travel to other UK sites is likely and on occasion may include some travel to mainland Europe.
