Interim Job-Contract Manager-Public Sector-Inside IR35-South London- £400-500 per day Your new company On behalf of our client, a public sector organisation in South London, Hays Property & Surveying are currently seeking a Contract Manager, to join the Housing Repairs and Maintenance team. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a well established public sector organisation, manage a large team and contribute to the smooth operational running and success of the entire division. The division is composed by the following main areas: building services, pest control services, asset management services. Their offices are located in an excellent area with great transportation links. Your new role In your new role, you'll lead and manage the repairs service providing a high quality resident focused repairs and maintenance service across a range of functions, contracts and projects as they arise. You will also be accountable for significant operational budgets, both client and contractor. You'll be reporting to the Building Service manager and to the Business manager when required. Some of the duties: You'll provide strong and strategic leadership and management support to multi functional teams, ensuring effective planning, development, organisation and prioritisation of workloads to ensure effective and efficient operations across the team as a whole (craft workers, operatives and back office staff). You'll have the responsibility to set targets, monitor performance, attendance and conduct, identify training needs, undertake interviews and select staff; as well as establishing a strong performance management culture which encompasses challenging targets for all areas of activity and are subject to regular review. Finally you'll provide full operational financial control of the maintenance and repair contracts to the value of £13m; ensuring value for money is provided at all times. You'll be supporting the management and then the costs recovery through income generation, and wherever possible generating a financial surplus for providing and selling our products and services. What you'll need to succeed To be successful for this role you'll have a strong understanding of issues around the delivery of maintenance and refurbishment contracts in an urban environment. You'll have evidence of leading, managing / supervising teams in the delivery of services, as well as experience in task, target and goal setting for members of your team. Finally, you'll possess substantial experience of administering building related contracts at a senior level and the ability to manage against a budget, and to allocate resources efficiently and effectively.
