Overview

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England. The Durham and Darlington Community Adult Mental Health Teams are planning to restructure the way services are operate and as such they require an additional 4 Band 3 staff to work within the Physical Health & Clozapine clinics. Although this role is predominantly to provide Physical Health and Clozapine Intervention there will be an expectation to work within and support the wider community team as required. The 4 posts will be divided between the North and South of Durham and Darlington, covering EIP as well as the community teams. The successful candidates will be located with specific teams but will be expected to travel to cover over clinics as required. The role requires a minimum of current training in Physical Health Checks, Venepuncture, ECG and Lifestyle Factors, however candidates with relevant experience in the health service would be considered and training would be provided. Experience in clozapine monitoring would be an advantage but training in this area would also be provided. The successful candidate must have completed the Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or equivalent. Candidates must also have Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent and must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within their probationary period (first 6 months in role).
