Overview

Ivory Cottage are looking for staff who are inspired to engage support and work alongside young people within a dynamic team environment. We are seeking professionals who can bring with them a variety of skills and experiences but also maintain a real aspiration to be the catalyst for change and progress in the lives and journeys of young people. Staff will maintain a commitment to the journey within a residential home We will also play an active role in promoting empathy and awareness through calm, thoughtful approaches helping young people begin to verbalise and understand how they think and feel. Caring for children looked after will also require the resilience and mindfulness to understand complex and sometimes challenging behaviour in a person-centred manner. Previous experience is preferable, but not essential. A level three Diploma in the child and work force development would be advantageous as would the preparedness to work towards attaining this qualification within two years. The hours are to be worked on a rota and are on a shift basis to meet the needs of our young people and require flexibility. Driving licence, access to a vehicle and business class insurance are required. As is the preparedness to work across our services and support homes as required. You will have a usual nominated location of work, however in unusual circumstances this may be adapted to meet young people’s needs. The hourly rate scale advertised is subject to experience, qualification and suitability. All opportunities within Ivory cottage are advertised as being subject to receipt of acceptable references, a thorough safer recruitment process and satisfactory probationary period.
