Today is a top 10 Independent energy company in Europe with annual revenues of over €2billion. As a company with big ambitions to grow, we are looking to recruit new talent to be part of our journey. ROLE We are seeking a Data Protection Adviser to join our growing team. You will responsible for creating a culture of protecting customer data. Working across the business with a number of stakeholders, you will be self-starter who can undertake gap analysis, develop policies and training, and challenge the business to ensure that it is meeting its obligations under GDPR. RESPONSIBILITIES Promote a data protection culture within the organisation Leading detailed gap analysis addressing data security, retention and privacy risks. Ensuring the business has appropriate governance, policies and procedures. Developing training for GDPR and how to manage requests from customers Ensuring GDPR risks are managed and escalated as appropriate Interpret, assess and communicate to Business Leaders the GDPR requirements and risk associated with business initiatives and regulatory change. Conduct one-off investigations as required. Maintain current knowledge of laws and regulations, keeping abreast of projected and recent changes. Provide guidance to senior management, staff, and employees on GDPR matters. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Previous experience in a similar role essential and has an understanding and working knowledge of current data protection legislation, practices and techniques. Negotiating, influencing and communication skills to command professional respect. Developing close 'trusted adviser’ relationships with key business leaders. Oral and written communication skills with a strong detail and analytical skills and the ability to identify and explain complex compliance requirements and convey difficult messages to all stakeholders. Bachelor’s Degree or beyond from accredited university or college (desirable).
