Then this could be the job for you… About the service Midworth Street is a mental health service which provides housing and support for adults who are over eighteen with a mental health diagnosis, throughout Mansfield and Ashfield. The service is split across three large town houses each containing thirteen individual rooms, with all three houses having shared communal space allowing the service room to provide a safe, and engaging space to support tenants. The service provides support to enable individuals to develop their skills for independence by supporting tenants to make budgeting claims, access education and develop relationships with services such as housing official and social services. What will you be doing? As a Support Worker, you will be working closely in a team with twelve other colleagues to support tenants at the project and be expected to key work tenants and to create and maintain tailored support plans once you are settled in. Support provided will include but not limited to: Working with tenants families, carers and friends to develop and maintain support networks. Produce, review and update support plans in partnership with tenants/service users and staff. Support tenant/service user to make choices and decisions about their lives. Maintain a safe and healthy physical environment for tenants/service users and staff. Help in finding and applying for accommodation including setting up and maintaining a tenancy Help with making benefit claims, budgeting and debt repayment plans Dealing with housing officials and private landlords Developing tenant’s skills for independence (e.g. how to look after your house) Assisting in getting out and about in the community Encouraging contact with services such as social services and hospitals Support in taking up education, training or employment opportunities About our client They are one of the largest locally based housing organisations in the East Midlands.
