About this job - We are looking for support workers to join our 6-bed specialist care residential home. The people residing here are of mixed gender and ages. They may have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties and challenging behaviours. We aim at reducing risk factors through personalised centred planning and by using a number of techniques to build independence, promotion of well-being and coping mechanisms to prevent future difficulties. Our specialist residential care services are designed for adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues, some of whom have also experienced emotional difficulties. We aim to provide a safe environment whereby the people we support can live comfortably and happily. They can rely on our team to provide the care and support required and work together to integrate themselves back into the community. The home is within a semi-rural location based near Ruddington Village. We provide excellent training before you start which includes 10 day face to face training (this will include restraint training Mapa2) and you will be supported and welcomed by the team, working several shifts shadowing an experienced Senior Support Worker until fully competent and confident in the role. Example of shifts 7am-2.30pm or 2.30pm-10pm and then wake nights Requirements: Experience in working in specialist care services i.e. Mental Health To be flexible To be approachable To be resilient and have a positive can do approach to care Valid driving license desirable but not essential Assisting in giving a high quality of personal care to the people we support if required Types of skills required and duties to accept: Providing encouragement and promoting in day to day duties Care plans and documentation completed and updated Transportation (use of company car) if applicable Meal planning Orgainsing social activities (trips out) Maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry and shopping etc) Benefits: Life assurance, Flexible working times, Opportunities for career development, Paid training, Refer a Friend bonus £250 - £750 T&C's Apply, Industry recognised qualifications, Fully funded DBS/PVG and Guaranteed hours.
