Retail firm currently seeking an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance function based in Warrington. Client Details My client is a rapidly growing retail brand that offer their bespoke product in to a thriving and demanding market place, they recently turned over in excess of £50m and are aiming to significantly increase this in the next financial year. They are currently seeking an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance function. Description The successful Assistant Management Accountant will; Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts within agreed timescales as set out within the team's objectives Assist in producing the monthly management accounts pack within agreed timescales as set out within the team's objectives Liaise with budget holders on a monthly basis to establish the cause of budget or forecast variances when comparing to actual results Assist the Senior Management Accountant in the production of budgets and revised forecasts Effectively handle all queries from key budget holders, and proactively help them to manage costs in their areas of the business Assist in the preparation of VAT returns on a quarterly basis and help prepare the partial exemption calculation on an annual basis. Distribute the monthly transaction listing to the budget managers and assist budget holders with any queries that may rise, in a timely manner To undertake monthly reviews of all purchase orders raised To ensure that new supplier requests are set up in a timely manner To assist the Financial Controller and the Senior Management Accountant in operating and improving internal controls within the finance function Carry out any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the Senior Management Accountant, Financial Controller and Director of Finance Profile The successful Assistant Management Accountant will; Production of management accounts Basic accounting skills Budgeting and forecasting techniques Robust internal control procedures Advanced/Intermediate spreadsheet user. Basic VAT knowledge Highly organised, analytical, logical and numerical Must demonstrate capability of influencing stakeholders particularly budget managers Results orientated approach - focused on achieving measurable benefits for the organisation Ability to identify opportunities to improve efficiency's and develop enhanced internal controls.
