Job Title : Manager in Accounting Services Location : Manchester Description: Our client is a Top10 firm who are currently looking for a qualified Manager to join the expanding team. Accounting Services are a leading market focused business, providing corporate accounting services to national and multinational corporations, with a focus on helping them remain compliant and providing insights to their operations. Responsibilities The preparation of local GAAP statutory financial statements. Providing skilled accounting resource on secondment, where there is a temporary need for additional resource. Bookkeeping and preparation of periodic management accounts. Manage and control the preparation of local statutory financial statements for cross border clients. Advising on statutory accounting compliance requirements. Advising on improvements to the statutory financial statements cycle i.e. the production, audit and filing of SFS. A Manager in AS requires the ability to manage a portfolio of clients and to work on ad hoc projects. The ability to apply their accounting compliance knowledge to major proposals. Management of accounting staff Requirements Qualified ACA / ACCA with proven management experience Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge on financial reporting matters including the ability to work from first principles. Successfully deal with "companies in a mess". Very good working knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS and some awareness of US GAAP. IT literate, ideally with some experience of accounting packages and very good excel spreadsheet skills.
