SEMH Teacher needed in Essex Do you have a background in SEMH or SEBD? Have you had experience with challenging behaviour? Want to work in an SEBD/SEMH setting? This specialist school based in Essex is looking for someone with experience of working with challenging children and young people. This is a Hospital school caters for young people include depression, suicidal ideation, psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder and anorexia nervosa. All those admitted to the hospital have mental health problems of a severity considered to be too great to be managed in the community. The length of stay varies from a few days to over a year. Education is part of the programme for all young people admitted to School. This centre believes that all young people should be provided with appropriate education in a safe, stable, containing learning environment. The students are aged 13 to 18 and academically they range from mild learning difficulties to gifted and talented. They are given opportunities to succeed through the use of highly personalised individual education plans which are linked to the Care Pathway for their mental health problem. We see engagement with education in the widest sense as fundamental to recovery. The Therapeutic Education Department works closely with the nurses, doctors and therapists at the centre and with a wide range of professionals in the community. This role starts ASAP and interviews will be held next week. This is a full time/long term position and will lead to permanent if successful. Skills and experience required are as follows: SEN EBD Mental Health experience ASD Excellent behaviour management Current DBS on the update service Classroom experience Working with primary or secondary Full UK driving Licence Available to interview ASAP The schools offers: A committed and enthusiastic staff.
