Overview

We have a new opportunity with an international healthcare company, based from the head office. My client is looking for an engineer to work on their brand new innovative product range across the UK, US & Europe. The successful candidate will be involved in: Providing engineering support in relation to the installation, service and repair of MALDI Mass Spectrometers and Liquid handling System. Analyser and peripheral component setup for end user customers. The installation of analysers at customer sites. Undertaking analyser preventative maintenance services. Field support to customers primarily in UK / Europe but also in USA and in other sites worldwide. Providing technical assistance, with colleagues, (via phone and/or written correspondence) to customers. Worldwide in response to enquiries/reports from the field. Repair and/or replacement of any faulty analyser components to restore functionality of the analyser within the agreed timescales and in order to offer first time fix solution. Repair returned analysers or component parts and return to reconditioned stock. Maintaining stock control of spare parts. Attending any engineering support tasks as required. Attending external training courses as required. Person Spec: Electronics, Mechanical or Engineering Qualification or evidence of applicable training and experience within relevant technical field. UK Driving licence. Experience of working on Mass Spectrometers: Ideally MALDI but other relevant technologies (i.e. Ion Trap) also applicable. Experience of working on liquid handling robotic systems ideally within a diagnostic environment but this is not essential. Proven Service Support track record Good communication skills when dealing with customers Excellent customer service experience. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent troubleshooting skills Excellent organisational and time management skills Flexibility to travel within the USA, Europe and occasional worldwide travel at short notice Reliable and professional A motivated Team player The ability to work independently, show desire for development and eagerness to learn Package: Competitive basic salary Use the pool cars we have on site. Overtime paid when traveling away from home 24 days annual leave service days on 3, 5, 10 and 15 years Death in service 3 x salary Pension: Company contribute 6%, the minimum the employee contributes is 3.5%, they can put more in if they wish.
