Job Description
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced nurse leader with extensive experience in operational and professional practice within community nursing services. We are looking for an experienced nurse already working at a Band 7 or Band 8a level who wishes to undertake a new and exciting challenge to act as a role model in providing excellent and inspirational leadership to the Night Service. This exciting opportunity will enable someone to join the team on a 12 month fixed term/secondment contract in a Matron role supporting the development of the Night Service. This role is to support the Night Service by leading and supporting them to deliver safe and effective patient care. This will be achieved through the Matron working alongside the team during the night to offer the Clinical leadership and Managerial support required. As part of your role as Matron, you will be a strong visible Clinical Leader and will have operational and Managerial accountability for the delivery of care from the Night Service. The successful candidate will be supported to continue to develop their leadership ability, management skills and lead by example to deliver excellence in patient care and develop the team with their professional and clinical skills. You will be working for the Trust's Adult Community Division which provides community health care services within Birmingham. Across the division we deliver nursing and therapy services to people in their own homes and in clinic environments. We work closely with colleagues in secondary care, primary care and social care as well as the voluntary sector to deliver the best outcomes for the patient You will be working alongside other experienced Matrons, Therapy and Nursing Managers and Senior Clinical Leads. The role will report to the Lead Nurse for community nursing services. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear professional ability, collective and collaborative leadership and the ability to articulate inspirationally a clear vision for the future of community services. Key elements of the role that you will be supported to achieve will be: * Providing strategic and operational leadership and management within the Night Service. * Setting the standards expected to ensure high levels of satisfaction for our patients. * Inspiring and sustaining change within the service * Ensuring processes are embedded to achieve the required staff education and professional development * Demonstrating and inspiring a clear vision and passion for quality and excellence.
