Development Engineer Modular Housing
Overview
We have an exclusive and unique opportunity with the modular housing division of a FTSE 100 company which has the vision to revolutionise the industry while improving society. You’d be joining in the early stages – the company’s first flagship project is moving to site this year with capacity to produce over 3,000 homes per year from the first factory before opening others. You will be joining an in-house design team based at the factory itself formed 18 months ago which has grown to 25 people consisting of architecture, M&E, civil/structural, product development and BIM. As the first development engineer joining this early in the process, there is the opportunity to shape the development function of the business through implementing processes etc. along with the challenge and variety of creating new design. There are excellent progression opportunities within the team which is due to double in size in the next 18 months. The Development Engineer will manage engineering activities between the design team (internal & external) and construction site of several projects to ensure the design is coordinated to meet programme, costs and customer/client requirements. Key responsibilities include reviewing technical information for new sites and preparing feasibility designs; site visits; procuring engineering designs and surveys; reviewing and value engineering consultants designs; coordinating with local authorities; overseeing sections agreements; chairing pre-start, design and site meetings; forming a key link between design and construction; using Autocad/Revit to produce engineering plans. Requirements: 2 years of total experience including having worked on housing developments Experience dealing with section agreements (e.g. s278, s38, s104, s106) HNC / Degree in Civil Engineering Embrace change Passion for high quality developments Experience in Autocad and/or Revit (training on Revit will be provided) The company has attracted some excellent design and engineering staff to join so far.
